Our Solutions

We aim to produce greener network and achieve the goal of "Green commutation, green Huawei, Green world".

As early as 2000, as one of the first group of enterprises responding to Environmental-Protection & Energy-Saving Plan in the world, we put forward the concept of "Green Network" and considered it as one of the most important innovative factors, in every working procedure from planning, design, R&D to manufacturing, also take energy saving as one of the performance assessments of the company.

Huawei's green strategy includes all the various elements of an end-to-end network, from access, to core networks, using efficient transmission networks to connect it all together so that we can provide service providers with the latest in network convergence; all based on world class green credentials. All of our current products consume about 30% less energy than traditional ones.

In 2007, over 100 thousand Huawei green base stations were deployed; which reduced 170 thousand tons of CO2 exhaust comparing to traditional equipments, that's equal to the CO2 exhaust volume of 70,000 Chinese in one year.

In 2008, we joined GeSI to promote the study to alternative energy sources and environmental protection

Third Party Voice

"During the period from 1973 to 2006 a period of 33 years, we increased our usage of energy by 73% and emitted 79% CO2 exhaust into the atmosphere" — International Energy Agency 2008

"Huawei is one of a number of vendors seriously attacking the problem of energy efficiency in telecom networks. Joining GeSI is a positive move for Huawei given its rising importance in Europe' s telecom industry."

Matt Walker, principal analyst at global advisory and consulting firm Ovum, and author of the report Surfing the green wave in telecom

"Huawei has shown a long-term commitment to building a sustainable and environmentally friendly business. The thinking and resulting processes are embedded into all aspects of Huawei' s business."
