Huawei, a leading equipment supplier in the ASON field, added the ASON/GMPLS control technology into the SDH, WDM/OTN and PTN products, which realizes the unified ASON/GMPLS control plane. The ASON series products provide an E2E intelligent transport network solution from access to backbone network. The unified and distributed ASON/GMPLS control plane enhances the network reliability as well as the bandwidth utilization of the transport network, and at the same time it reduces the CapEx and OpEx of the network. Huawei OptiX series products have been deployed worldwide and large numbers of ASON commercial networks have been launched. By the end of 2007, Huawei had already deployed more than 100 ASON networks, and provided E2E intelligent features to more than 50 carriers worldwide.
